Wellbeing Seeker

Soul equilibrium

Gently awaken your mind and body after a cold winter by immersing yourself in the Victorian High Country and all it has to offer.

Here, you can rewire your mind and body, detoxing from hectic city life through holistic practice away from distractions. Stay at unique space offerings who have your health and wellness front of mind, join a guided walking tour and explore the natural bushland, and fuel yourself with the cleanest, freshest, most delicious produce you can get. You’ll walk into summer refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for the end-of-year party season!

Organic and ethically produced food continues to rise in popularity here in the High Country, with farmers and graziers focusing on improving agricultural practices for the health of the consumer and the environment. Black Barn Farm is one such enterprise - a chemical free orchard in Stanley producing juicy heritage apples,  as is the organic/ biodynamic Pennyweight Winery, Silver Creek Sourdough with hand made (highly addictive) baked goods, and the Beechworth Co-op and Beechworth Goldfield’s Greengrocer, who lead the way in sourcing local, organic and biodynamic fresh produce and whole foods.

The region also has weekly produce markets so you can meet and learn from those who lovingly tend their farms - always happy to share their story with you.

Lake Sambell to Lake Kerferd Festival of walks

You will walk through tall eucalypt forests and if you look carefully will see evidence of past mining activity and tunnelling. There are many disused mine shafts on the track which are covered with wire mesh others are not, so stay on the designated trail. Keep a look out for koalas, wombats and wallabies as you walk along. When you reach Lake Kerferd you can fish for Redfin and Golden Perch. As Lake Kerferd is Beechworth’s water supply there is no swimming or boating.
